REPORTING: Disney Fanatics Gather for Disney’s D23 Expo

Disney’s D23 Expo, a biennial celebration for all things Disney, kicked off on Friday, August 9th and continued through August 11th at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The fan event featured meet-and-greets with Disney Channel and Disney XD celebrities, an exhibition of exclusive artifacts from the Disney archives, a coveted costume contest, and live performances from up-and-coming artists like Youtube star Nick Pitera, brother-sister band R5, and singer, actress Bridgit Mendler. During the three-day event, attendees also had the opportunity to meet Disney authors Ridley Pearson (Kingdom Keepers Quest series), Marty Sklar (Dream It! Do It!), Mindy Johnson (Tinker Bell: An Evolution), and Dave Bossert (Remembering Roy E. Disney: Memories and Photos of a Storied Life) who each presented and signed books at the D23 Expo. Throughout the day, Disney enthusiasts participated in “Find Your Voice” karaoke, had princess-inspired makeovers and manicures done by Sephora, and purchased special Disney merchandise, found only at the D23 Expo. The schedule was jam-packed, and had something for everyone!
