BLOGPOST: October {domestic violence awareness month}

Wearing purple today, because October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month. I was raised by an incredible single mother who taught me that domestic violence is never okay and abusive relationships shouldn’t be tolerated. 1 in 4 women, and 1 in 7 men experience domestic violence. Support those affected by donating to a nonprofit that advocates for victims, or by volunteering at a domestic violence shelter this month. If you’re in New Jersey, Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV) helped my family with crisis intervention and counseling when we were going through this many years ago. They’re an amazing organization making a significant difference for DV victims.
